Location privacy
- Avoid posting exact coordinates or access points publicly.
- Share details sparingly and only with trusted partners.
- Delay posting for fragile or active sites to reduce traffic and harm.
No forced entry
- Do not break windows, cut fences or locks, or remove boards.
- If sealed, return another time. Don’t make access.
- Respect signage and closures; do not tamper with security systems.
Take nothing, leave nothing
- Photograph, don’t disturb. Leave objects and documents in place.
- Pack out all trash and avoid leaving marks or graffiti.
- Protect heritage, ecological, and residential sensitivity.
Publish responsibly
- Remove sensitive EXIF location data when appropriate.
- Avoid revealing access methods or vulnerabilities.
- Credit reputable history sources; blur personal details.
Community & respect
- Be courteous to locals, owners, and other explorers.
- If approached, be calm and cooperative; leave when asked.
- Avoid shaming; educate when safe to do so. Lead by example.
